Die vorliegende Arbeit setzt sich einerseits mit systemtheoretischen Grundlagen und Grundbegriffen auseinander und schafft andererseits einen Bezug zur Anwendung der daraus resultierenden Erkenntnisse in Beratungskontexten der Sozialen Arbeit. In dieser Arbeit wird aufgezeigt, inwieweit in der Sozialen Arbeit systemtheoretische Erkenntnisse in Beratungskontexte eingearbeitet werden können. Dazu wird die Anwendbarkeit systemtheoretischer Ansätze in der Praxis der Sozialen Arbeit an der Darstellung des lösungsorientierten Beratungsansatzes dargestellt. Die Beratung von Klienten stellt eine zentrale Tätigkeit in der Sozialen Arbeit dar, jedoch existiert keine einheitliche Theorie der sozialpädagogischen Beratung. Vielmehr bestehen eine Vielzahl von Beratungsansätzen, wie beispielsweise die klientenzentrierte Beratung, die psychoanalytisch orientierte Beratung, die kognitiv-behavioral orientierte Beratung oder die systemische Beratung. Im Anschluss an diese Einleitung wird sich daher, nach der Definition von grundlegenden Begriffen im zweiten Kapitel, im dritten Kapitel zunächst unter Einbeziehung von historischen Entwicklungen, das Handlungsfeld der Beratung und ihre Etablierung in der Sozialen Arbeit dargestellt.
